A Bucket Hat with Two Personalities
Most accessories look the same no matter where you are.
This one doesn't.
During the day, it appears soft, lightweight and understated. The kind of piece that works with almost anything and quietly elevates an outfit without demanding attention.
But the goal was never to design a single version of the object.
The question was different:
What if an accessory could transform with its environment?
The project began by exploring photoluminescent materials and their relationship with digital fabrication. I wanted to create a piece that could react to light and offer a different experience depending on when and where it was worn.
That's how Glow Bucket Hat was born.
A bucket hat produced entirely through 3D printing in flexible TPU.

Its structure emerges from a repeating modular pattern inspired by weaving, petals and interconnected surfaces. As the modules come together, the geometry begins to behave almost like a textile: lightweight, flexible and capable of moving with the body.
During the day, the material maintains a soft and understated appearance.
But under UV light, the transformation begins.
The surface absorbs energy and starts to glow in the dark, revealing a second version of the object.
The same piece.
Two different behaviors.
Two different ways of experiencing it.
Although much of the project originates from digital tools, the final result still depends on physical decisions: material behavior, flexibility, thickness, comfort and the way the piece interacts with light.
Because the challenge was never simply to make it glow.
The challenge was to create something that remained comfortable, wearable and part of everyday life.
